Collection: Sandra Manzi
THE ARTIST
Sandra Manzi is a painter from Toronto, currently residing in Hamilton. After working for many years in the arts in a museum environment, specifically working at the AGO for 30 years, she now dedicates all her time to her own art. She creates paintings which focus on observations of those moments that are often missed. Based on her own candid photos of strangers, family, and friends in overlooked situations, she invites viewers to rediscover the poetry within the environments we inhabit and the various places where daily interconnections are commonplace.
Sandra is a graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCADU), earning her degree in drawing and painting. She then continued her studies at the University of Guelph, earning a B.A. in Fine Arts. She is a recipient of Grants from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council and is a three-time finalist for the Boynes Artist Award. Her paintings can be found in private collections in Canada, the United Stated, and in Europe.
