Wall Space Gallery is proud to present a curated selection of works by Toronto-based painter Kaitlin Johnson. Tackling floral and abstract compositions with vibrant palettes and patterns that vie for attention, Johnson brings the representational into competition with the abstract. Infusing blocks of colour in-between petals, pots and leaves she creates energetic moments of contrast. Her paintings inspired from textile patterns mimic the patch-work of quilts, use discordant patterns and marks to create joyously balanced-chaos.
Earth Offering, acrylic on canvas, 36 x 36 in, $1700
"As an artist, I am constantly seeking inspiration from the world around me. Whether it be the vibrant colours of flowers in my garden, the patterns and textures of textiles, or simply a striking colour combination, I am driven to translate these fleeting moments of inspiration onto the canvas."
