Twoubadour continues the series of paintings based on the Guantanamo Bay detention camps of Haitian migrants in the 1980's. Though I am introducing a fictional figure through it, the Twoubadour, he serves as a witness to this history as it is unfolding and it is my re-imagining of a revolt by migrants that happened in one of the camps called Camp McCalla. Twoubadour is the first painting I am doing with this specific figure, but I am currently working on building imagery around it to grow his presence.
