Artists

Dan Metcalfe is a recent graduate of NSCAD University in
Halifax, Nova Scotia. He primarily uses spray paint as a
medium, but enjoys experimenting with new mediums all
the time. He has used spay paint, acrylics, oil, sculpture, silk
screen, digital media and most recently markers to create his
artworks.

Dan has always been infl uenced by urban cities and the
graffiti within them. He enjoys creating portraits, examining
facial contours and the contrast they can produce. For
the most part, he would rather paint on public spaces for
everyone to enjoy, but painting on canvas is also something
he enjoys. Through his art, he attempts to push the idea that
graffiti is a form of art and that it should be appreciated as
such whether on canvas or public domain.
