Amy Kovach

A creative soul from the start, I ignored my true passion and decided to pursue a career in the financial industry.  For years I browsed boutiques and art and craft shows looking for pieces that were “my style”.  Not being able to find things that fit, I began designing and making my own jewellery.  Soon after, others began requesting my pieces.  This led me to start my own business in my “spare time”.  Encouraged by friends and relatives, I quit my career, attended college and earned an honours diploma in Jewellery Arts.  Upon graduation my industrious nature was validated when I earned the Made You Look Award for Entrepreneurial drive and potential. I have made my passion my career and I have never been happier.  One very supportive husband and 4 years later, I am living my dream. I have a keen eye for design and appreciate the simplicity found in nature.  I aim to highlight basic age-old shapes using unexpected textures and contrasts that keep my jewellery clean, sleek and modern using traditional shapes in non-traditional ways.  I consider my pieces “new classics”. Subtle, well designed pieces that will become part of your everyday but still attract attention for their unique edge.  I am currently a resident designer at Made You Look Jewellery Studio in Toronto where I create my collections and am available for commissions.
