David Merritt

Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, David was exposed to fine art at an early age. It was that exposure and his desire to paint that sent him to Concordia University to study Art and Design.
His keen sense of adventure then urged him to travel overseas where he worked as a Conceptual Designer and Art Director in the field of animation. David worked with artists from a variety of back grounds in Germany, China and the Philippines. David’s 20 year career in the animation industry has given him a strong sense of design and colour.
After his return to Canada, David began to paint in earnest. His love of nature is evident in his “plein-air” works. The many painting trips to some of Canada’s most beautiful national and provincial parks have resulted in the production of many fine works. His art can be viewed across Canada in both galleries and private homes.
