Brian Harvey

My interests lie in exploring patterns and relationships that exist within the contemporary urban environment. Organic and geometric shapes, colours, lines of architecture, roads, hydro wires, trees, and shrubs act to speak a history of urban growth and decay. I am drawn to record those structures and spaces that have served several generations, and which now stand as testament to neighbourhoods that have come and gone. Since the advent of modern urbanization, large areas and districts across North America have been destroyed or irrevocably altered. My aim is to capture, and document the character of these remaining historical facets to represent a given moment in the evolution of a city.
